Botanical Painting & Illustration Courses

The Chelsea School of Botanical Art

The Chelsea School of Botanical Art offers both short courses run by visiting tutors throughout the year and a Diploma Course starting in January each year. The original course devised by Anne Marie Evans and offered by the English Gardening School is now under the umbrella of the Chelsea School of Botanical Art. The school, situated in the Chelsea Physic Gardens, retains the EGS Course Director, Helen Allen and a number of well-known botanical artists as tutors. To browse their diploma and short courses please visit the Chelsea School of Botanical Art by clicking here.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh

The RBGE Diploma in Botanical Illustration is one of our flagship botanical illustration courses. This independent, RBGE certified course hones the many skills you need to capture plants in pencil, pen and paint. It runs over two years part-time. The main focus is on observational drawing, pen-and-ink work and painting skills, but by the end of the course, students should develop expertise in a wide range of botanical illustration techniques.
